Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Topeka, KS
Keeping Our Patients Well-Informed
If you’re considering visiting our dental office, you probably have a few questions. To make things easier for you, we’ve answered some of the most common questions that we receive from patients on this page. We suggest reading them before your appointment and calling us if your question isn’t answered here!
How often should I see a dentist?
We recommend that all patients, regardless of age, visit our dental office for checkups and cleanings twice a year. At these visits, Dr. Fox can monitor your teeth and gums for early signs of cavities, infections, and other concerns, and then intervene before they cause lasting harm. Our hygienists can also clear away plaque buildup, leaving your smile healthy and clean.
Do you see children as well as adults?
Absolutely! Our practice is happy to meet the oral health needs of adults and children alike. After all, patients of all ages can be vulnerable to tooth decay and damage. We’ll gladly educate you on how to care for your little one’s smile at home and help them develop proper brushing and flossing habits, which will encourage a lifetime of great oral health.
What should I do if I have dental anxiety?
We understand that visiting the dentist’s office can be nerve-racking, and our team goes the extra mile to help you feel comfortable. In addition to our relaxing office environment and friendly team, we offer nitrous oxide sedation (or “laughing gas”) to soothe your nerves. We can also administer local anesthetic painlessly via The Wand™ if you have a fear of needles.
Are braces my only option for straightening my teeth?
These days, adults and teenagers have other options for addressing misaligned teeth without inconvenient metal braces. At our practice, we offer both Invisalign and SureSmile clear aligners, which gradually reposition your teeth while being barely noticeable to the people around you. Plus, you can remove them at any point to eat your favorite foods without hassle.
Can you fix my broken tooth?
We offer a number of restorative services designed to fix broken teeth. Depending on the extent of the damage, we can provide tooth-colored fillings or dental crowns to restore the beauty and function of your tooth. In some cases, we can even provide a lifelike zirconia crown in a single visit!
Will you accept my dental insurance?
Most likely! Our practice accepts virtually all PPO dental insurance plans; we’re in-network with many of the leading providers, including Delta Dental, Cigna, and BlueCross BlueShield. As long as you have insurance, you can count on our team to file your claims for you, ensuring you’re saving every single dollar possible on the care your smile needs.
